Journey to Becoming an Influencer

Rika Agustini, owner and creator of Posh Journal, is a multinational food and lifestyle blogger that strives to bring her audience the inspiration needed to live happier and healthier lives. She started blogging in 2011 to keep herself busy after having her first child. She fully established Posh Journal in mid 2016 and continues to translate her passion for food, travel, and fashion into gorgeous moments, inspiring her followers with facts, tips, recipes, DIY and more.

The name “Posh Journal” was inspired by Rika’s love of travel, lifestyle, and fashion. Though she wasn’t as interested in creating recipe posts, one day she took a shot of her homemade chicken noodle soup with her iPhone and submitted it to Food Gawker on a whim. She was surprised and delighted when they accepted her photo and it inspired her to share recipes on her blog. Rika bought a DSLR camera and taught herself photography. Now when you visit Posh Journal, you’ll find a lot of recipes mixed in with the other lifestyle content.

Rika’s favorite part of being an influencer is the freedom and believes that it makes every day completely different from the last. Though it can be challenging to stay on her toes from a creative standpoint, she says that’s also the most fun part of the job! Through hard work and dedication, Rika has honed her photography skills and developed a perspective that is both genuine and unique, while embracing a knack for creating delicious and healthy recipes.

“My work with Linqia inspires me to be more creative. Every project is a new learning phase for me with new challenges and takeaways. I can then build on those prior learnings to create higher quality content than I ever did before.”

How Has Linqia Helped

Rika found out about Linqia through a blogger friend who is part of a tight-knit online community. Since word of special opportunities travels fast within the group, Rika soon discovered that she could blog about what she loved while getting paid.

Some of Rika’s favorite things about being a Linqia influencer are being matched to relevant programs, the ability to be authentic, and the push to be more creative. She loves that Linqia lets her be herself, and she only works with products that she believes in. Her work with Linqia inspires her to be more creative, since every project is a new learning experience for her with new challenges and takeaways. It helps her to continuously improve herself by learning new skills that she can then build off of to continuously create higher quality content.

Rika’s advice to new influencers is, “If you haven’t signed up yet, just go for it! Don’t spend time second guessing yourself. It can sometimes be hard to muster up confidence when you work on your own, but just go for it and within a few campaigns you’ll have a newfound swagger. The sky’s the limit!”
